Lavrov: We Understand Reasons which Push Brahimi to Resign

 
MOSCOW, (SANA)- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that he has received with a high understanding reports about the intention of the international Envoy to Syria Lakhdar Brahimi to resign, wondering "how can a professional man behave in contrary to this if one of the two organizations which commissioned him to hold discussions between the authority and opposition, the Arab League , abandons any form of support." 

"The Arab League has considered the Syrian government as illegitimate in Damascus and gave representation to the opposition coalition which doesn’t represent even the whole opposition, at the same time it has taken a decision to arm the opposition," Lavrov said in a statement to journalists. 

Churkin: UN Report Ignores Terrorist Groups' Responsibility for Sexual Crimes in Syria  

 (am not sure why he is surprised US covers up rape of their own female soldiers, no big surprise, US is fascist misogynist country)
 

Russia criticized the UN report on "Sexual Violence in Conflict" for ignoring the crimes committed by the armed terrorist groups in Syria despite the many confirmations that were made in this regard.

Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN, Vitaly Churkin, slammed the UN report, submitted on Wednesday at the Security Council, for holding the Syrian army alone responsible for the crimes of a sexual nature with only a passing mention of the responsibility of opposition members for such crimes.

Russia Today website quoted Churkin as saying that the content of the UN document raises questions as there were many confirmations about the opposition members' responsibility for sexual crimes. 

He called for adhering to neutrality and objective and reliable information when discussing such a sensitive issue. 

Syria's Permanent Representative to the UN, Bashar al-Jaafari, stressed in Syria's statement at the open session of the Security Council pursuant to article titled "Women, Peace and Security" dedicated to discussing the report of the Secretary-General on sexual violence in conflicts, that the work of the International Fact-Finding Committee on which the report was based has not been professional from the beginning, and it was rather politicized par excellence as it rejected hundreds of documents provided by Syria on the crimes of the armed terrorist groups.

Margelov: It Is Time For France and Russia to Find Decisions regarding Syria 

Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee at the Federation Council of Russia and Russian president's special envoy Mikhail Margelov affirmed that it's time for France and Russia to find decisions regarding Syria, the Middle East area and African Continent.
In a meeting with the representatives of the French Foreign Ministry on the sidelines of the Russian, France prospects of Strategic Partnership conference, Margelov said that it's important for our countries to find specific solutions to the international issues, adding that such a meeting should be for making solutions.
In a speech to ITAR-TASS he said" the French law-makers realize the danger of the Islamic extremism in Syria."
