Al-Halqi: Government's Main Goal Achieving Stability, Security, Ensuring Requirements

DAMASCUS, (SANA)- Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi stressed that the government exerts all efforts to achieve security and stability and ensure the requirements of the Syrian people.

In an interview with the Syrian al-Ekhbaria TV. Channel broadcast on Wednesday, al-Halqi said that the government carries out what it had promised in the governmental statement or through adapting with the daily challenges which the country is facing , asserting that the government continued meeting the requirements of the Syrian people and the armed forces' steadfastness . 

"Syria is facing a global war due to its role and geopolitical position in the region as it is part of the resistance axes .. this war has political , economic and social dimensions", he said asserting that the Syrian economy is invulnerable, multiple, and adapted to the challenges. 

He added that the strategic stock of food supplies meet the basic requirements of the Syrian people for the coming year.

He indicated that the agreement of exporting the olive oil to Venezuela was implemented as well as an agreement was signed with Iran to barter the olive oil , citrus and textile with potatoes. 

Regarding the health sector, the Premier stressed that this sector is coherent and invulnerable asserting the failure of the terrorists in targeting it despite that they targeted more than 34 hospital and 168 health center but the health sector still offering huge services to the citizens which motivate them to attack the medicine factories. 

The Syrian medicine has become one of the competitive sectors on the Arab, regional and international levels as there were 70 factories for the private sector and 2 factories for the public sector . these factories export medicine to 57 countries due to its effectiveness and good price.

He affirmed that the situation of the Syrian pound is relatively stable along with the volume of the challenges that face it, asserting that the government and the Central Bank of Syria have adopted reassuring policies and committed to financing the import of the basic materials.
